Confirmation statement filing handled before the 14-day window closes
Confirmation statement filing checks that Companies House still has the right directors, people with significant control, registered office and share details. We prepare and submit it inside the yearly window.

A few quick questions, then a plain recommendation and a fixed monthly fee in writing. About two minutes. No monthly tie in.
- Annual company details check
- A 14-day filing window
The form looks routine until the review date passes and the window starts closing. Late filing can put the company at risk of prosecution or strike-off. We keep the date, check what changed and file it as part of the limited company package.
One Abacus is a two-person accountancy practice in Brixton that files annual confirmation statements for small limited companies. The work sits inside one fixed monthly fee agreed in writing, and the accountant doing the filing answers the phone.
- Rated 5.0 on Google
- One fixed monthly fee, agreed in writing
- FreeAgent or Xero included
- Brixton, by appointment
What gets settled before the window closes
Companies House has the right details
Directors, ownership, addresses, activities and share information are checked before submission.
The yearly date leaves your diary
We track the review date and handle the submission when it comes round.
Every annual filing stays connected
The statement sits alongside your accounts, corporation tax and director’s return.
Where a routine yearly check becomes a company risk
A short form can still expose a missed date or an old company detail.
- Deadline
“I knew it was annual, but I couldn’t say when the filing window ended.”
The date passed while other work took priority. The company was left exposed to Companies House action.
- Changes
“I changed the registered office and assumed the yearly form would update everything for me.”
Some changes need separate forms. The statement can still be wrong if those were missed.
- Package
“I thought the accounts covered Companies House, so I never checked the separate review date.”
The accounts and statement follow different dates. Treating them as one deadline can leave a gap.
- Sorted
What changes once someone owns the filing date
The review date goes into our diary. We check what changed and deal with any separate forms. The statement is then submitted, with a plain answer available when you call.
Quick check · no email
If you cannot name your review date, confirm your company details and say who files them, it is worth a conversation
Answer these three questions about your company as it stands this week.
Question 1 of 3
Do you know your company’s next review date?
Do you know whether every Companies House detail is current?
Do you know who will submit it inside the 14-day window?
There is a real gap around the date, the details or both. A conversation with Ryan can establish what is due and who should handle it.
One or two yeses means much is covered, with one loose end still exposed. Our fixed fee arrangement shows how the filing can sit with every other company deadline.
Three yeses means this filing is covered. Keep the Companies House guidance nearby if any company detail changes.
What changes when the filing sits in the package
The form is short, but remembering, checking and submitting it still need an owner.
Kept as a separate annual job
You remember the review date.
You check every company detail.
You file any separate changes.
You keep proof of submission.
Held inside the company package
We track the review date.
We check the company details.
We handle the required forms.
We confirm when submission is complete.
The details worth checking before anything is submitted
A useful check goes beyond confirming that the company name still looks familiar.
- 01
Is the registered office current?
Check the address where official company post should arrive.
- 02
Are all directors listed correctly?
Appointments, resignations and personal details must be current.
- 03
Is the registered email current?
Companies House uses it for official contact.
- 04
Are ownership details correct?
Check people with significant control and relevant shareholder information.
- 05
Does the share information match?
The statement of capital should reflect the company’s current position.
- 06
Do the business activities still fit?
The industry codes should describe what the company now does.
- 07
Have separate changes been reported?
Some company changes require their own Companies House form.
- 08
Can the lawful activity statement be confirmed?
The company must confirm that its intended future activities are lawful.
What else stays connected to this deadline
The Companies House check works best when the other annual jobs have owners too.
Year-end accounts prepared and filed
The accounts are built from current books and submitted by their separate deadline.
Corporation tax worked out early
The return and payment are dealt with alongside the company accounts.
Every company date in one place
Payroll, VAT and annual filings sit inside one agreed monthly package.
Entry 01
Why the fixed fee matters after year end
An annual form should not create an unexpected invoice or an unanswered question.

What clients say
One Abacus was recommended to me by several friends and I truly owe them a huge favour as this company has been exemplary! As a new limited company myself and a novice to the contracting world I have had tons of questions and they have been dealt with promptly, effectively and in an approachable and really helpful manner. I couldn't recommend One Abacus enough!
I am currently using one Abacus for sorting out all my freelance accounts and i have to say everything has been perfect with my accountant. they are normally always available even on the weekends when you need something sorted out really quickly. they have sorting out everything from helping with mortgage and notifying when you to pay your tax. really nice and responsive people to talk to if you have questions.
One Abacus has provided me a comprehensive service, very professional accountant, but friendly at the same time, maximum availability, I couldn't be happier.
How the yearly Companies House check gets filed
We establish the date first, then check what Companies House currently shows.
Your next review date is found
We check when the current review period ends and put the filing in our diary.
The company details are checked
Directors, ownership, addresses, activities and share information are compared with the company.
Separate changes are dealt with
Items needing their own form are handled before the annual statement is sent.
The yearly filing has an owner
We keep the date, prepare the statement and confirm when it has been submitted.
When our company package may not fit
Charities and CICs fall outside the work we take on.
Construction and CIS-led businesses are outside our focus.
Stock-heavy retail and e-commerce need a different set-up.
We will not endorse or submit work we have not checked ourselves.
The quick questions will show whether your company fits the way we work.
Questions that settle the Companies House filing
Confirmation statement filing: is it included in the monthly fee?
Yes. The Companies House statement is included alongside FreeAgent or Xero, payroll, VAT returns, year-end accounts, the corporation tax return, the director’s self assessment and advice. One fixed monthly fee is agreed in writing before work starts, so the annual statement does not arrive as a separate charge.
Confirmation statement filing: can you handle it if I already have an accountant?
We can discuss the filing, but it is normally handled inside our limited company package rather than as a separate annual job. If you decide to move the wider work, we arrange the handover, check the next Companies House date and only submit information we have checked ourselves.
Do I have to move accounting software for you to file the statement?
No automatic change is needed just for this Companies House filing. One Abacus works with FreeAgent or Xero, which is included, configured and shown to you as part of the package. Ryan first checks what you use now and explains any sensible change before anything moves.
What happens with my current accountant if I switch to One Abacus?
If you choose to move, we contact your current accountant for the handover information and pick up the next company deadlines. You do not need to wait for the year end. We explain what we need and agree the fixed monthly fee in writing before work begins.
What is a confirmation statement and when is it due?
A confirmation statement is the annual check that Companies House holds current information about your company. It covers details such as directors, people with significant control, the registered office, business activities and share information. It is due within 14 days after the end of the company’s review period, even when nothing changed.
What happens if a confirmation statement is filed late?
Late filing can put the company and its officers at risk of prosecution. Companies House may also start action to strike the company off the register. If the date has passed, check the company details and deal with the filing promptly rather than waiting for the accounts or corporation tax return.
